e-Research Summer Hackfest: The FutureGateway framework - Overview

Riccardo Bruno

04 July 2016

Abstract: In this presentations we introduce the FutureGateway (FG) framework, we describe each of its components and we explain how they work together. During the presentations we also cover some security considerations related to the Science Gateway membership handling using as point of reference the standard baseline AAI mechanism provided by the standard FG installation and how to modify it to switch to already existing AAI mechanisms. The FutureGateway provides also a complete set of REST APIs to manage distributed computing resources, that are also briefly described. The set of videos also show how to setup a FutureGateway instance making use of several baseline installation scripts. It is also shown how to manage, maintain and update the system. The usage of several REST APIs is also presented by means of real examples. The video is the recording of one of the lectures given at the e-Research Summer Hackfest (http://www.sci-gaia.eu/summer-hackfest).
